2014/15 | End of Season Review (in 140 characters or less)
Player of the Season
David De Gea
Outstanding performer. One of the best players in the league, made match-winning saves all season long. Will struggle massively if he leaves
Goal of the Season
Juan Mata 2nd goal vs. Liverpool (a)
I loved Di Maria's vs. Leicester, but given the occasion and opponents, this goal wins it. Stunning bit of skill & great pass from Angel.
Most improved Player
Ashley Young
Who would ever have predicted the turnaround in fortunes for the winger? What a season he's had. Became pivotal towards the end.
Best Performance of the Season
United 4-2 City
Liverpool(a) & Spurs(h) were also great, but beating City so emphatically was incredible. Shame we couldn't finish above them in the table.
"Let's Pretend That Never Happened" Moment of the Season
Leicester City 5-3 United
From 3-1 up and cruising at half time...to a crazy 45 minutes that saw us concede four and have Blackett sent off. What a disaster.
Areas to Address for Next Season:
Defense
LVG's no.1 focus is rebuilding the defense this summer. Valencia won't last another full season & Jones isn't cutting it. Shaw's a worry too.
Goalkeeper (...although hopefully not!)
The best 'keeper in the world. I hate to say it but De Gea looks Madrid bound. Can't begin to think who could fill his boots though...
Time to Say Goodbye
Falcao
The lucrative loan spell didn't go to plan. 4 goals in 29 apps, although most as sub. Wasn't given much of a chance to impress by LVG.
Jonny Evans
Has been pushed out of the side - made 1 sub app since his red vs. Newcastle in March. United will no doubt buy defenders in the summer too.
Robin Van Persie
An injury-filled season for RVP - he's also looking like a player who's surplus to LVG's plans for building a title winning side next year.
Nani and Chicharito
Aside from the odd flash of brilliance I don't think either has done enough on loan to convince the manager they should be @ United next year
