Fletcher's returns marks a new air of positivity at Old Trafford

United
beat Galatasaray last Tuesday in the Champions League – a fairly customary 1-0
that went rather unnoticed, with the limelight being shone firmly on a couple
of the other Premier League representatives who were both taught a nasty lesson
on what not to do when you’re winning. But the biggest victory in Manchester
that night was in the return to the squad of one Darren Fletcher.

As
you are all no doubt aware, Fletcher had been sidelined since November 22nd because
of a bowel condition that threatened his career.  His condition was such that Sir Alex had
feared that was the end of the road for Fletch: Ferguson’s last remaining member of 'Fledgling
Mark II' – the same school that included O’Shea, Richardson and…Danny Pugh.

However,
with about 11 minutes remaining on the clock, Fletcher replaced Paul Scholes
and the stadium erupted: “The
supporters recognize what a tough time he has had for the last year,"
Ferguson continued, "They gave him a marvellous reception. He has been out
of the game for a year it took him one or two minutes to get going but he can
only be better after tonight."

And last night, Fletch played his first 90
minutes in 10 months in what was yet another straight forward run-out – this
time in the 2-1 victory against Newcastle in the Carling Capital One Cup.

This is just the latest in a line of some awesome news
for United as the club recently inked a new sponsor in sportsbook and online
gaming site bwin.  Bwin
has been dedicating large amounts of cash to football lately – see Ronaldo in
the white of Real – and it seemed that United was the perfect fit.

Some had expressed concern that our new
sponsor had previous dealings with Wynn regarding talks of a buyout, but those talks proved
fruitless and now it looks like bwin
is fully committed to growth: both as a brand affiliated with football and the
growth of the Reds…which is good!

The return of Fletcher to strengthen the squad,
as well as the recent deal with bwin,
are exactly what the club needs right now as we strive to regain our title.
Fingers crossed, with the long season now in full swing, we will end up with
our grasp firmly back on the Premier League trophy.
